John F. Kennedy’s BIG DREAM resulted in the famous moon landing on 20th July 1969!
Do you dare to dream *BIG* DREAMS?
Today, I heard Jack Canfield, cocreator of the phenomenal ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ series on my car stereo as he narrated ‘The Success Principles
‘:
“Always dream big dreams.
“Big dreams attract big people.
“It doesn’t take any more energy to to create a big dream than it does to create a little one.”
How true is that?
AND
What has BIG DREAMS got to do with this SPECIAL DAY? Read on…
In1962, US President John F. Kennedy dreamed of putting a man on the moon in his famous speech:
“We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
“But if I were to say, my fellow citizens, that we shall send to the moon, 240,000 miles away from the control station in Houston, a giant rocket more than 300 feet tall, the length of this football field, made of new metal alloys, some of which have not yet been invented…
“… and then return it safely to earth, re-entering the atmosphere at speeds of over 25,000 miles per hour, causing heat about half that of the temperature of the sun–almost as hot as it is here today–and do all this, and do it right, and do it first before this decade is out–then we must be bold.”
And… if you ask me, that’s really an AWESOME DREAM. A BIG BIG DREAM!
And yet… despite skeptics who thought it could not be accomplished,
Kennedy’s dream became a REALITY on July 20th, 1969!
That’s when two men from the Apollo 11 mission (Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin) took small steps for man and a giant step for mankind, leaving a dusty trail of footprints on the moon.
Every year, somehow, I’ll remember this IMPORTANT day: July, 20th. And TODAY marks the 41st Anniversary of the moon landing!
[As a side note: Recently, I read Buzz Aldrin's Reaching for the Moon, a wonderfully written book for children. It gave an insightful glimpse into who an astronaut is. Highly recommended reading.]
Just imagine…
… if Kennedy did not dream big, the astronauts might still be circling our Earth year after year!

A powerful share, I simply given this onto a colleague who was doing a little bit evaluation on this. And he in truth bought me breakfast as a result of I discovered it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the deal with! However yeah Thnkx for spending the time to debate this, I really feel strongly about it and love studying more on this topic.
